Lapis Lazuli...Blue Diamond?

I saw an interesting theory on tumblr. What if Lapis Lazuli is Blue Diamond or a piece of Blue Diamond? Here's the thoughts behind the notion:

~ Lapis has been in both of the season finales and plays a prominent role in the plot of both
~ Lapis has had nothing shown about her life previous to the mirror, except that she sees the Crystal Gems as an enemy - the Diamond Authority fought against the Crystal Gems
~ Lapis Lazuli is the only gem in the show that has no variety - even Rose Quartz can be in different forms (rose tigers eye quartz, star rose quartz) - Lapis Lazuli is completely unique
~ Lapis is the only homeworld gem to have a blue diamond instead of a yellow diamond (as she’s not part of Yellow Diamond’s army) - Blue Diamond was one of the Diamond Authority
~ Lapis’ diamond is actually two seperate triangles, one of which is prominent on her chest - Blue Diamond’s gem is a large blue triangle on her chest
~ Lapis is extremely powerful even in cracked form, and controls water - Blue Diamond is also extremely powerful and controls some form of liquid (most likely water)
~ We haven’t seen Lapis before her gem was cracked; for all we know, she’s always been cracked
Lapis Lazuli, when in mirror form, used video clips to show off the past - The supposed gem of Blue Diamond (in Horror Club) used a video clip to show Lars’ past
~ The Blue Diamond gem in Horror Club is now a monster form - by the extreme amount of detail on the gem - it may of lost a part of its gem
~ Steven’s spit makes new gem material and repairs cracked gems, which repairs their forms - Lapis could of gotten a form when Steven healed her
~ Lapis has extreme similarities to Blue Diamond
~ Lapis is most likely related to Blue Diamond
~ Lapis might actually be Blue Diamond or at least a shard of the original gem

The only thing I've noticed is that this theory is taking guesses at information about Blue Diamond (i.e. controlling water). As far as I'm aware, we don't know anything about Blue Diamond. Yet.

Thoughts on this?

I don't see how a literal rock and a diamond could be the same. Related, maybe, but not in the way you're thinking. I like to think she worked under Blue Diamond, the same as Jasper and Peridot work under Yellow Diamond.

I don't think lapis is blue diamond (unless of course diamond is just a title given to powerful gems) but perhaps she was very close to the blue diamond (because of how powerful she is)

I definitely think there's evidence of her being important, not only because she's powerful, but since she cries out "Did you even wonder who I used to be??" to the Crystal Gems.

I don't think Lapis is blue diamond but she might be someone high ranked and maybe near the same level as Blue Diamond, maybe like a co-diamond or something .3..

Why do you guys think she may not be Blue Diamond?

I'm not saying she's not, I'm thinking she's not Any more.
there's a chance if its just a name given to powerful gems she was a past blue diamond But not the current one. Because why else would she have been kept prisoner on a ship if she was the reigning Blue Diamond.

I thought Lapis wasn't Blue Diamond but after reading somethings and thinking it through she might be Blue Diamond, we still don't know lots of things so hopefully we'll get more background on July 13.
