So yeah, I like Onion a lot more after this episode.

This episode confirmed the theories of:

1. Vidalia is Onion Sour Cream's mom.
   
2. Marty is Sour Cream's dad.
   
3. Onion and Sour Cream are half-brothers.
   

I also ship Vidalia and Amethyst now.

me too! he's still a weeeeird character, and i'd like to see more of him (if there is more of him, really) to fully form an opinion, but i gotta say after the second half of the episode i liked him better. before the second half though, i was still weirded out by him lmao.

yeppppp, me too just a little bit! and affirmative to those facts too :p i love vidalia as a character wow. she strikes me as a really cool mom who still hangs onto her youth in a non-cliched, not uncool way.

god, this show. this was a cuuuuute ep despite my original misgivings about onion. steven is just the sweetest, i swear. i love him.

Vidalia was the girl Marty was with in Story for Steven after Greg first met Rose.

This entire episode I was saying "wtf?!?!?" Onion is so weird and I'm having mixed feelings about him. At times he seems sweet and just weird because he's a child but other times it's like.. ok you are very intelligent and very creepy and I'm getting the heebie-jeebies just looking at your blank face.

I definitely felt for Steven this episode. Onion is... strange.

EDIT: ALSO!!!! Amythest this episode!!!!! Omg I love that she finally has someone to TALK TO! And the fact that Vidalia stated that Amythest was someone she looked up too was just was Amythest needed to be honest. She needed someone to point out her strengths instead of her flaws, and it needed to come from someone who's opinion she highly valued. I think Vidalia saying that will show in Amythest in the next few episodes because I think hearing that was the confidence boost she needed to bring the Crystal Gems back together again. And yes, I do think that while this Arc will show Pearl hitting rock bottom, I think it will also show Amythest growing and stepping up to the plate as the glue to get the Crystal Gems back in action.

and yessssss! i agree with everything you said! steven is so sweet, and he realized that that's what amethyst needed, that she was super benefitting and feeling better about herself staying with and being able to talk to an old friend. who not only helped her by being an escape, but like you said, being exactly what she needed, an affirmation of her worth and strengths and good things!!

I love how Vidalia's hair is shaped like an onion.

All I was thinking during that episode was "Wtf Onion...." XD

i've read some fan interpretations that he's autistic. it hasn't been confirmed, obviously, but you know how fandom works. i can see the basis of that argument but i think i'll need more of onion (which i think we'll get because the fact that onion is so invested in steven, talking about him to vidalia and giving him his favorite gal :') say anything we will get more!!) to get fully behind.

i do like him though he's cute and odd.
