Lion Theories

I love Lion. I want a Lion plush. But, who or what do you think Lion is? She's obviously associated with Rose.

I feel like Lion is Rose. She lost her human form and took on another form instead - a lion. She desires to protect Steven and also has like a bunch of Rose's possessions.

Who do you think Lion is?

I do beleive lion could be a connection to rose! (i actually just read a thoery that lion is the other half of Rose just fused with a cat isntead of steven)
Also Lions always refered to as a male, (though this could just be because he takes the appearence of a male lion)

Lion is Rose's Safety Deposit Box. Except a lion. Lion was a secret, and not even those closest to her knew of his existence.

I think Rose just enchanted a male (why male? for the mane of course!) lion somewhere to be a place to store stuff, and it resulted in a pink lion that would later gain the creative name of Lion.

I kinda think that Lion is a type of manifestation of Rose's will to protect and love Steven. Because of his pink coloring and the fact that he holds many of Rose's things (including the video tape she left for Steven), I think Rose wanted someone else to share a part of her Gem with Steven so that he would always have a friend and guardian even though she wasn't there. I'm not sure if she really planned on it being an animal per se but it's curious how often Lion shows up to rescue Steven, to the point that it makes me think he's hardwired to always keep an eye on him.

I like that theory, too. It's very Tuxedo Mask-y.

What if lion is one of the creatures that Garnet mentioned that Rose wanted to tame.?

This is an idea! Though, it was mentioned the Crystal Gems never knew that Rose had a lion. Perhaps she did it in secret? And then I'd begin to wonder, why is he pink?

Hmmm....I do remember that Rose's room can create whatever Steven imagined so what if Lion is one of things that Rose imagined but somehow it became real...

I've thought about that myself because Lion's mane functions as another dimension, which is similar
to Rose's room.

I've always thought that Lion was or had something to do with Rose. I mean they have long pink hair and Lion has all of Rose's stuff. But thats just my idea .

Can you imagine the conversation when discussing what they wanted Lion to be?

Writers: So what are we gonna do with this Lion? How are we gonna work him into the story?
Sugar: Well he's big and pink so obvs something to do with Rose.
Writers: Yeah, but what?
Sugar: Hmmm what if he had a bunch of Rose's stuff?
Writers: Good, good. But where would Steven find all this stuff on him? A knapsack? A backpack?
Sugar: ...........
Writers: ............
Sugar: ..............
Writers: ................
Sugar: Pocket dimension in his mane?
Writers: Perfect.
