Rose and loving other humans

There's talk from We Need to Talk about how Rose loved other humans. I'm not entirely sure about this statement on if she's really loved other humans - at least in the romantic sense. The vibe I got when she was talking to Greg was that she was basically just repeating him because she didn't know what else to say.

Why do you think she meant it when she said she's loved other humans?

I think what you do. She was just repeating what she thought he wanted to hear since she probably had no idea what he was talking about. Love seems to be a foreign concept to the gems, especially war weary Rose, so she was probably just trying to take the conversation down the path that would lead to Greg being happy again.

Definitely agree. I think Gems have a different way of understanding and expressing love. Just like how fusion is a complex method of expressing intimacy.

She might've loved other humans but not in the way she loved greg. We saw she treated him kinda liek a pet at firsst so maybe she loved humans like pets before greg came along?
