| In We Need to Talk, she kind of indicates that humans are inferior and kind of like, well, cute pets. Why would she want to save pets? I mean yes you love your pets, they're very near and dear to our hearts, but to put her life and the lives of others of her kind and to no longer be able to return home for Earth?
I feel like Greg showed her that humans aren't inferior beings, but this is after the war. But I feel like it would make more sense for her want to put her life on the line for Earth if she understood humans are not cute little pets but like, special creatures. |

| Theory 1: She wasn't saving people so much as she was saving the actual Earth. Maybe Earth is the only planet that has the resources necessary to host the Kindergarten and create new gems. Maybe no other planet can do that. And, if the Homeworld had all those gems, and sucked the life from the Earth, what would stop them from taking over the entire universe? So she wasn't so much saving Earth, so much as she was stopping the destruction of every living thing in existence.
Theory 2: Maybe she was really impressed by man's resourcefulness. I mean, we've made a lot of technological advances in 5000 years. I'm sure Garnet could see what Earth would become in the future, on it's own OR if the Homeworld took over. Humans had so much potential. I mean... imagine if someone was like, "I'm going to dump oil into the ocean and kill everything that lives there!" You could say, "Well, that's just whales and fish." Ignoring other economical impacts, nobody is going to stand by and let an entire world (the ocean) be destroyed. The ocean is full of living beings, even if they don't have the same brain capacity as humans do. We fight to protect endangered species, we run into burning buildings to save our pets, we have animals as companions. I don't think that what Rose did is much different than what humans do for the animals that live here.
I guess, when things become more on a galactic scale than an Earthly scale, it's not as easy for us to put into perspective. |

| I don't think she saw them as pets, because gems and humans seem to have more in common thought process and intelligence wise than a person and their dog for example. It's just that Rose is an alien and humans are humans, so it's hard to relate to them or fully understand their feelings and needs sometimes. I think Rose was just way more detached from humans until she met Greg. She appreciated their intelligence and the fact that they were living beings with lives and struggles, but not on an individual level. She saw them as a whole group worth fighting a war for. Humanity had potential because of how similar they were to Gems on a certain level. They weren't quite pets, but they weren't completely equal either. They were somewhere in the middle, but still developing, and Rose wanted to protect that.
I'm not even sure if I'm making sense here XD |

| It makes sense. But in the episodes where we actually see Rose, like in We Need to Talk and Story for Steven, she seems to really just seem amused by humans and that's about it. Do we know she thinks there's potential in them? |

| I'm actually not sure this episode is a good way to tell what her thoughts were during the war, or her reasoning for fighting. Rose seemed to want to forget it even happened. She didn't even want to talk to Greg about it, so maybe her amusement at humans is only a surface opinion, and she just didn't want to dig deeper and overwhelm Greg with her heavy opinions on humanity and gems. She was certainly hiding something. |

| Well no, but it certainly at least showed her flawed. You can tell that she is amused by humans. I just wonder if it goes beyond amusement. I mean, I feel like it does - I feel like Greg shows her how amazing humans are, even if she can't quite relate to them on the same level. |

| I personally think it had more to do with what Homeworld was doing more so than what they were doing to Earth. I think she abhorred the concept of Homeworld taking the life out of other planets for their own advancements and wanted to stop them. Earth is just the place they happened to be fighting for.
Because when you think about how compassionate Rose really is, and the destruction Homeworld was committing on Earth, it's not hard to imagine Rose feeling the same way about any other planet they could have invaded. I think Earth is just the place they decided to use and Rose was gonna try and stop them anyway. |

| Me personally I think that Rose wanted to save Earth because of things that Greg showed and teached Rose, and maybe Rose knew what the Homeworld was going to do with Earth and she didnt like that they were going to take it all away from the humans. Just a theory though . |

| Like another war on Homeworld, but they might tell us more about why Rose protected Earth during the 3rd Steven bomb. |

| I think that yeah, there was just something about humanity that Rose loved and she didn't like what Homeworld was doing to Earth and the people as a result, so she rebelled. |
