We Need To Talk [spoilers]

So, the episode was leaked early. I'm guilty of watching it already, so I figured I'd start the conversation for those who have, too.

I love that the focus of this episode is that, even though Greg and Rose loved each other, their relationship was not without fault. There's still a lot that they didn't know about each other, and were confused to go about. However, they were able to work through their problems by talking. It shows that true love doesn't solve everything, and you have to work at a relationship to make it work. Kind of like what Garnet told Jamie. I think that's a great message.

It's also interesting to see Pearl at her saltiest. With all that salt, no wonder she's so thirsty. It's good to see that she became a little friendlier towards Greg as time went on.

Also, Rainbow Quartz! How cool is she? She has such a simple design, but one of the prettiest. She's like a giant 80's workout queen.

Oh, and Garnet confirmed for shipper. She totally wanted Greg and Rose to stay an item xD

I just watched it too! Definitely not heavy like yesterday's episode. But still had a lot going on. Man could Pearl want Rose anymore???? But Rainbow Quartz! Nice! I wasn't expecting that or for her to look like that. I was honestly expecting a RoseGreg fusion I kept waiting for it.

This is also giving us interesting insight to Rose. I'm not gonna lie, I'm not feeling like at the time of the video that she actually loved Greg. It felt like she was more amused and entertained by him like a toy. She's very mysterious too. Maybe she's not all that we may be thinking she is.

Also it's making more sense why she wanted to have Steven.

And baby Amethyst is ADORABLE AF

Baby Amethyst is one of the cutest things I've seen.

I was hoping to see the RoseGreg fusion. As it turns out, Steven being part human was the reason why he fused with Connie, another human.

And I have a feeling this incident was at least part of the reason why Rose wanted to have Steven as well.

Also, Pearl broke my thirstdar again. Dx

Ahaha I kept laughing at how salty Pearl was. She most certainly did NOT think the fusion would be cool for Greg's video!

Pearl confirmed for continuing to be the gayest character ever.

I love the way fusion is getting fleshed out and we're seeing how Rose doesn't quite understand human emotions yet.

I just watched it again and.. I just.. gah I just love this episode so much.

I love Rose and Greg singing together and how infatuated with Rose Greg is!! When she's singing he can't keep his eyes off of her and when Greg says that love is torture and Rose asks if she was torturing him he shivers when she says his name and say's it is absolutely the worst kind of torture and just OMG he's so in love and she doesn't even begin to understand the depth of his love for her and he's just as confused by it as well and omg these precious babies I love them so muuuuuch!!! <3

And Garnet is such a SHIPPER!! Omg she ships Greg and Rose SO hard and it's absolutely adorable. And I think that's because she is the embodiment of Ruby and Sapphire's love and she's witnessing Rose slowly come to realize that same kind of love for Greg and she's just so happy about it. She's so happy to see her friend and mentor falling in love.

And Pearl. Sweet, sweet little Pearl. She is SO jealous and it's SO cute. But I also like how at the end she starts to realize that maybe Rose DOESN'T think of Greg as just a "phase" and actually has feelings for him and you can see how confused about that she is because while she wants Rose for herself she also wants Rose to be happy. And it's obvious that Greg makes her happy.

And ROSE! Omg the more we learn about Rose the more in love with her I fall. She's so interesting and mysterious and she's incredibly curious and compassionate but she doesn't know she is because she doesn't know anything about humans and how they work even though she has a lot of human traits and her character is just so wonderful. I love how she's hesitant to really show Greg the other side of her. The side that fought in the war and took in these emotionally traumatized Gems. Because the fact that she doesn't want Greg to know about the scary parts of her means she truly care for him and doesn't want to scare him off but she DOESN'T REALIZE IT OMG MY BABY.

AND OMG DAD GREG at the end where he offers his time and compassion to Connie just omg he's the best dad. I love Greg. I really truly love Greg and Rose.

Yes. This. But we also see at the same time how Rose isn't human, which is also important and interesting.

It really is. I love that they realize this while talking but instead of breaking up over it and giving up he suggests they just talk and get to know each other first and as they do they realize they jumped into the relationship REALLY fast and just. I love it. The way they interact is so real and sweet and I just love it.

Did a re-watch. Loved it. Again. I love Rose. I love that like, she doesn't understand humans in a human way (if that makes sense).

I love that like, she's willing to try. I mean, she is "playing along", pretending to be human. But she isn't and doesn't know how to appropriately act like one sometimes. Not her fault of course - she's a gem. She felt bad when she realised how she was behaving was upsetting Greg. She's willing to try and learn from Greg, which is amazing. Cause you're right, rather than break up over the fact that they're different, they're willing to try and talk and overall just enjoy each other. Rose just has a lot to learn about really being involved with a human. There's just so much going on I don't think I can properly put things down in writing.

What I CAN say though is, nice adult tones in this episode. Rose is obviously rather sensual and we obviously know what they've been up to with the whole:

This episode was really cute. It shows that Rose Quartz is also a Gem with faults, their relationship isn't completely perfect, and we even got to see a new side of Pearl. Also, Amethyst's "Are you dead?" line left me ROFLing!
